Baldwin boys set for conference bowling tourney

BALDWIN — C.J Sidock bowled a 257 game to lead the Baldwin boys team to a 22-8 victory over Mason County Central last Saturday at Country Lanes.

It was a strong day for the Panthers, noted coach Nick Miller, who also had Damon Nichols, Patrick Rogers and Josh Richards performing.

The Panthers will be hosting the West Central Michigan Conference bowling tournament this Saturday. Baldwin is going after its fourth straight conference title.

“I expect to win it,” said Miller, whose team will bowl at the regionals Feb. 25 at Northway Lanes, Ravenna. The state finals are March 2-3 at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights.

“We’ve improved a lot,” Miller said, “more than I anticipated. I feel we have a chance to make it to the state finals.”

Baldwin made it to the state finals two years ago. A year ago, Brandon Avery made it as an individual bowler and was state champion.
