Baldwin boys basketball season set for practices
BALDWIN — It’s a key date on Monday for the Baldwin sports program.
The boys basketball team tips off its practice schedule, which goes three weeks in anticipation of the season opener in December.
Veteran coach Scott Pedigo returns as the varsity boys skipper with Bob Watkins serving as junior varsity coach.
Rusty Fullerton is the boys junior high coach.
The first day of varsity practice is 5-7 p.m. and Pedigo said he is working on a scrimmage schedule. The Panthers will be at West Michigan Christian on Nov. 30 with the host school, Reeths Puffer and Whitehall. He’s also working on some others.
The first game is Dec. 5 at Mason County Central in nonleague action.
Pedigo had a chance to work with several of his players during the summer including at a Ferris State University tournament.
“I had about a week or so with the kids,” he said.
The first week is officially tryouts, for both varsity and JV. He anticipates having 12 players on the varsity and perhaps as many as 15 on the JV.
