BALDWIN — Baldwin’s bowling team continues to pick up some impressive wins this season, led by seniors like DeMarko Williams.

Even during the holiday break, Williams and some of his teammates were working on their game, gearing up for what they hope will be plenty of championship success in February.

It’s his fourth year on the bowling team and he’s having his best season. His highest game has been 268.

“It’s going pretty well,” Williams said. “We have some (new bowlers) who are doing good.”

Practices, including during the break, “help a lot,” Williams said.

“Repetition and mentality” are critical combinations to have success in the sport, he said.

Spares have been a strength for Williams, who wants to work on getting more strikes.

“The team goal is to go to state,” he said. “My individual goal is to go to state.”

Williams is also on the basketball team and tries to utilize his diversity of talents to help the team. He’s been focusing on low post.

“My defense has been pretty good,” he said. “We have room for improvement. We have to work together as a team.”
