Baldwin bowlers hopeful for more success

Coach Roberts likes his teams potential

BALDWIN – Baldwin bowling coach Duane Roberts is excited with his team’s chances for success in the new year for the ongoing 2022-23 season.

“So far the boys and girls bowling teams have been bowling pretty well,” Roberts said. “The guys are in second place currently, but there is a chance to take first place this Saturday coming up. If we beat MCE this week and take all the points, we will have moved into first place.

“So far Jake Cutler has a high game of the season, as well as the highest average in our league this year. On the girl's side we have seen great improvements.”

The opposition, Roberts noted, has been very formidable.

“MCE boys have a group of returning bowlers who are doing pretty well,” he said. “We got off to a rough start this year due to conflicting schedules. We are looking to make up our points, week by week to catch and take first. In order to beat MCE we must bowl strategically and to make each shot count.

“To put it simply it is all about pin count, and taking the chance to outbowl ourselves and our opponents.”
