Baldwin bowlers defeat Mason County Eastern

BALDWIN — Baldwin’s boys and girls bowling teams both had successful performances on Saturday at the Baldwin Bowling Center.

The girls scored their first win of the season over Mason County Eastern.

The boys B team “is improving every week,” coach Samantha Curtis said. “That’s what we look for from them.”

The boys A team is 4-0 after a win over Mason County Eastern. Players for the boys are Tyler Clugston, Ryan Kolenbrander, DeMarko Williams, Kendall Phillips and Darrin Thomas.

Rosie Lemieux and Alexis Pieske have been leading the way for the girls bowling team.

“We actually got our first win of the season today,” Lemieux smiled. “We have four girls and so do they. That makes me happy.”

It’s her fourth year of bowling and she indicated the bowling ball is working as effectively for her as what she used last season.

“I’m actually hoping to go to state this year,” Lemieux said. “With how I’m bowling this year, I think I (could make it).”

She’s averaging a 140 per game, which is up from last year. She’s been working on her game extensively.

“If we don’t have practice and I have time, I’ll come here (Baldwin Bowling Center) and bowl two or three games a week,” Lemieux said. “The other three girls we have are all new bowlers.”

The Panthers bowl every weekend in league action.
