BALDWIN — Brittany Bowling realizes the uniqueness of her last name as a bowler.

Regardless, the Baldwin junior is looking to have a unique bowling season for the Panthers.

She’s bowled since her freshman season.

“Last year, the girls won every single game and we did good at regionals,” she said. “We started off a little rough at our first meet (at Baldwin Bowling Center). Our newbies are picking up and we’re going to do really well this year. We have to put more practice into it.”

Bowling, who also plays volleyball and softball, is hoping to have her best bowling season and make it to the state final.

“Consistency is a huge thing,” she said. “It’s mostly the way our form is and our approach.”

Most of the girls are back from last season. Nicole Mooney is playing basketball this season. Christina McCarthy and Rosie Lemieux are among the other returning players.

“We did all right for our first meet (at home), especially with some newbies,” Bowling said.  “We’re going to try to go to other places so we can do well on other floors.”
