MANISTEE -- Baldwin improved to 3-0 with a 69-48 win in West Michigan D League action on Tuesday at Manistee Catholic Central.

“SJ Hossler carried us early especially in the second quarter with 16 points,” Baldwin coach JJ Eads said.  “He had 26 overall. We had some foul trouble early so we changed defenses and it was effective.

“We scored the first nine points then MCC scored the next 10.”

Baldwin was up 28-22 at halftime and outscored MCC 25-8 in the third.

Carmelo Lindsey had 21 points and Louie Jackson had nine.

The Baldwin JV team lost 45-40.

Baldwin 36, Marion 31

Baldwin opened its West Michigan D League season with a 36-31 win over Marion on Thursday. It was 24-15 at halftime.

“We had foul trouble all game,” Baldwin coach JJ Eads said. “David Lee hit two clutch free throws and SJ Hossler hit a big three late to seal it after Marion tied it 31-31.”

Carmelo Lindsey had 12 points and Lee had 10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crossroads 52, Baldwin 11

BIG RAPIDS -- Jackie Cole and Kaitlyn Buys scored 16 points apiece, Alexis Carr added 14 and Hailee Pace had six in leading Crossroads to this win over Baldwin on Friday in West Michigan D League action.
