BALDWIN — Baldwin’s varsity basketball team lost its last regular season game on Feb. 21 to Bear Lake 71-48.

It would be the final game prior to a scheduled district battle with Manistee Catholic Central on Wednesday at Mason County Eastern.

A scheduled regular season game on Monday at Walkerville as cancelled because of the weather

In the Bear Lake loss, high scorer for Baldwin was Ryan Kolenbrander with 20 points, Lavonte Palmer with 11, DeMarko Williams with nine and Dexter Hossler with eight.

Baldwin had nine points in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 12 in the third and 12 in the fourth. Bear Lake had 26 in the first quarter, 11 in the second, 15 in the third and 19 in the fourth.

“We had a bunch of turnovers,” Baldwin coach Bob Watkins said. ‘We had a span in the first quarter where we went down and couldn’t buy a shot and had a bunch of turnovers. We were better than the first time we played them even though the score might not indicate that.”

Baldwin entered this week at 3-14. Three regular season games were canceled because of the weather and not made up.

If Baldwin wins on Wednesday, it would play for the district title on Friday.
