Baldwin baseball team continues its preseason preparations

BALDWIN — Baldwin is in its third week of practices, although Panther baseball coach Cregg Bolles continues to work with as many numbers as possible.

It’s been spring break for Baldwin and Bolles has been working with a various set of numbers to get ready for a season that starts April 11 against Crossroads Charter Academy.

Practices have been set for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Tuesday’s practice session was outdoors because of the seaonable weather.

“It looks like it might rain the rest of the week so we’ll be in the elementary gym,” Bolles said.

The numbers are roughly at 11.

Freshman Ryan Kolenbrander will be a utility player.

“Wherever I need him to play, he’ll play,” Bolles said.

Senior Da’Ron Copeland also will be a utility player. Junior Tyler Clugston is set to be a relief pitcher and shortstop.

“That’s pretty much the big three right there,” Bolles said. He added hitting “is getting better every day, and that’s all that matters.”

The season opens April 11 at home with Crossroads Charter Academy.
