BALDWIN – Baldwin’s boys and girls track and field team will be competing this Saturday in Brethren in the Division 4 regionals.

Athletes will attempt to qualify for the state finals on June 3.

Coach Bob Watkins said he expects to take five athletes. This includes Bre’Indel Watkins and LejLa Haznedarevic in the shot put and discus; and Carmelo Lindsey in the 100-meter dash and long jump.

Watkins expects Lindsey to have a chance to qualify for the state meet.

“This will be a chance to see how he handles the pressure,” Watkins said.

All the athletes attending from Baldwin are seniors and will be able to return next season.

Watkins said Baldwin has competed in the Saugatuck regional in the past.

It’s pretty much the same schools,” he said. “Time will tell.”
