Baldwin athlete reflects on strong junior bowling and basketball seasons

BALDWIN - It's going to be an interesting senior winter sports season 2021-22 for Baldwin's Jesse Pancio.

He was one of the top players for a basketball team which was conference co-champs and league runners-up and only lost two games, including one on a game ending buzzer-beater.

"I did pretty decent this season," Pancio said after he and his teammates clinched the league title and earned individual league honors. "We're going over practice routines and everybody is getting better during the season."

Baldwin's team qualified for the state final. Pancio made the top eight at the state final individual division.

The two-month delay to start the season didn't seem to deter the Baldwin bowlers.

"Everybody got in there and found their groove," he said.

Pancio is a junior but said his freshman season has been his best.

"I think we're a little more advanced than some of these other (conference) teams," he said.

Pancio feels his overall bowling has been solid.

"Bowling and basketball are even," Pancio said. "I like them both."
