Baldwin all-star game this weekend
BALDWIN — All-star game and Hall of Fame inductions for Baldwin football and basketball will be on the agenda Friday and Saturday at the high school gym.
Former athletic director Shawn Williams is working on the various events for the weekend. He said the elementary all-stars basketball game is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by the middle school all-stars.
“Saturday, we have the first ever Baldwin High School Football Hall of Fame introduction and ceremony (3 p.m.),” Williams said. “Then we have the annual Cynthia Arlene Best-Fitz (CABF) Alumni All-star Basketball Classic all-star game. It’s 3:30 for the women. Then we’ll have our men and women second basketball Hall of Fame induction.”
The men’s alumni game will follow the basketball Hall of Fame induction.
Williams said on Tuesday he has 32 registered all-stars for the elementary school game. They were practicing during the week at the elementary school gym.
Rusty Fullerton, Elliott Lindsay Duane Roberts and Toni Wheatley will be among the assistant coaches.
Spud Walker will be a special guest.
“It’s going to be an exciting time,” Williams said. “It’s like a family reunion week. It brings the community together.”
