BALDWIN — Baldwin’s junior varsity boys basketball team dropped its final game 54-47 Thursday at Bear Lake.

“It was a great game played by both teams,” Baldwin coach Duane Roberts said. “It hurt us when we got in foul trouble. It was competitive all the way through. As a coach, I’m thrilled. We’ve closed the gap between the other teams we’ve lost to. They are playing great.”

Last week the JVs won by 10 in overtime to Manistee Catholic. No score was available. “We had a decent start but things slowed down,” Roberts said.

Derick Mock hit free throws to tie the game in regulation. Leonard McNeeley had 19 points.

Baldwin also played Brethren and lost last week.

“We tried to get their big man out with foul trouble,” Roberts said. “We trailed by three points going into the second half and ended up losing the gap. We lost by 20.”
