Baldwin JV boys improve to 8-4
BALDWIN — Baldwin’s junior varsity boys basketball team continues to have a strong season.
Coach Erica Tate’s team improved to 8-4 on Friday with a 43-40 win over Onekama.
Zach Lovett scored 17 points for Baldwin. Tyler Clugston added 12 points.
“It was a very good basketball game,” Tate said. “We had a struggle in the first quarter and they got up. In the second quarter, we completely dominated on defense and they didn’t score except one point. That’s where our opportunity was to get back in the game.
“The second half was a close game all the time with good solid defense. We tried to keep down on the fouls. In the end, solid defense won the game for us.
Tate is hoping the Panthers can continue with their winning streak.
“There’s always room for improvement and they’re always working on that,” Tate said. “It shows in every game. They’re doing better in every game.”
Baldwin on Friday is at Manistee Catholic Central. Baldwin was scheduled to be home Wednesday of this week against Brethren.
