Sportsman’s club president keeps busy
BALDWIN — Rick Delamater realizes that as president of the Lake County Sportman’s Club the area never takes a breather from the outdoor scene.
Delamater, also owner of the Outdoor Inn at Baldwin, noted that a recent weekend was busy.
“Until school lets out, it’s kind of sluggish,” he said. “Now all of a sudden, it’s going great guns, a little faster than we thought even.”
Delamater noted that brown trout fishermen have been staying active
Troutarama later this month will also pick up some major numbers, he added.
The next meeting of the sportsman club will be 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Pleasant Plains Township Hall in Baldwin. All club members and interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
“The township (recently) was supposed to review our lease submitted for the property,” Delamater said. “They need to approve it to send it to a lawyer,”
The lease is for property for a sportsman club area by the airport. The club is looking to able to set up archery ranges and eventually have gun shooting ranges.
