Lake County Sportsman Club remains busy
BALDWIN — The Lake County Sportsman Club is ready for another busy summer season.
Cub president Greg Nichols addressed the club last week with an invitation to a work bee scheduled to take place on Monday.
"We will be having a work party at the range," he said. "We will be clearing space for a skeet/trap range, reworking the pistol range by adding tires behind targets for lead abatement, redoing target area and doing berm work. We will be starting at 3 p.m., but come when you can.
"We will need chainsaws, shovels etc. Also we will need some trailers to move tires from the airport. Weather permitting we also will try to burn some brush piles. Any help will be appreciated."
The clubground is at the airport site off of McKinley Road. Members continue to develop ranges and programs for sportsmen's use. Plans eventually call for a clubhouse. The club continues to have monthly meetings.
