Pastor's Pen: Who's controlling our lives today?

With the newness that every morning brings, who are we allowing to control our day that’s before us? Are we starting with God and a prayer of submission to Him, knowing that His angels go before us? We should be confident that by being sensitive to the Holy Spirit we are blessed and will be an influence to others.

It’s so important that we give each day to God, thanking Him with each breath we take! With every opportunity we should yield to others as we travel or just going through our routine. Failure to submit to God we can become consumed with the fear of the unknown or the guilt of those days past.

Let’s begin with our Bibles, Lamentations 3:22-24 tells us ...

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

We have an enemy, the devil, who is daily tossing fiery darts of untruths with the hope that they will stick, then taking root controlling our thoughts. The devil is always attempting us with those false thoughts of deception that they could take control of our day. He’s always trying to take our eyes off of the Lord, sometimes even causing our eyes and thoughts to stray.

We have the Name of Jesus which is above every name, including the name of Satan who has been defeated. By submitting to God and using the Name of Jesus we can rebuke every attack of the devil.

Apostle Paul tells in the Book of Romans 8:31 ...

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

As we start each new day let’s hold our heads high, we are children of God. We have the highest Name giving us authority over the devil and his attacks. Let’s use it, letting those around know the source of our strength and happiness.

Who’s in control of our lives, God or Satan? Remembering that Jesus has said, that we are to be a light shining on the hill giving life and light to those He has placed around us!

Blessings in the Name of Jesus!
