Seeing the reality of evil, especially for those living in Ukraine, does it cause us to ask "Why Lord?" What can lead someone’s heart to turn so cold that they willingly destroy others for their own personal gain? No consideration for the suffering they are causing!

We are not dealing with the effects of war within our borders! However, as I have mentioned before, some have felt similar effects within our cities with destruction, not caused by bombs, but by what some have called peaceful demonstrations! "Why Lord" has evil events and disrespectful actions of some become so rampant in this God fearing nation?

Now, because of a war being fought almost halfway around the world from us, we are feeling the effects with higher gas prices, and some of our daily provisions that have always been available are now not found on the shelves. This can cause a panic to sweep throughout our land of the free, losing faith in the world we live in, maybe forgetting the need to trust in our God!

In Matthew 6:31-34, Jesus reassures us,

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.  “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

So what can we do?

Throughout the Bible, when faced with overwhelming situations, people would pray in unity, become humble, and then allow God to do what only God can do. God has at times provided manna (bread) from heaven; He brought the unscaleable walls of Jericho down; and parted the Red Sea so His people could walk right through it. Know that He will provide for us in these days.

"Why Lord/" Could this be the time to turn again to You? Some people  may have misplaced their desires on the world instead of God.

It tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6,

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”

In the peace of God!  Pastor Ron
