Muskegon man arrested for OWI, pot and resisting police
HART — A North Muskegon man was arrested in Oceana County for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and resisting and obstructing police.
The investigation began when Michigan State Police Hart Post troopers were dispatched to a traffic crash on Buchanan Road and 118th Avenue in Oceana County’s Ferry Township, according to a press release. Once on scene, troopers observed a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash. Further investigation resulted in the troopers locating a person walking in a wooded section of property near the crash. The 28-year-old man admitted to driving the crashed vehicle and walking away.
The driver admitted to consuming alcohol, and sobriety tests conducted at the scene led to the arrest of the driver. After being secured with handcuffs, the suspect attempted to escape custody but failed. He also was found to be in possession of an amount of suspected marijuana.
The man was lodged at the Oceana County Jail, and is name is being withheld pending arraignment in the 79th District Court of Hart.
