LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Congratulations on phenomenal progress

To the editor:

As President of the Lake County Community Foundation, I am ecstatic at the phenomenal progress the Foundation has made over the last 18 years (1993-2011). We have grown from net assets in 1993 of $17, 231 to net assets of over 2.3 million dollars! From the first grants made in 1993 to those in the most recent 2011 grant cycle, we have granted over $780,000 to various Lake County organizations.

We look forward to the grant cycle every year because it is the culmination of what the LCCF is all about ... making an impact on our community. The LCCF board puts considerable thought into how the financial and economic environment is changing. We remain committed and vigilant in facing new challenges and opportunities. We are committed to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Fueled by the generosity of our donors, the Foundation has had the opportunity to provide phenomenal support to the Lake County community in the areas of human services, education, health, community development and culture.

The LCCF is pleased to announce that funds will be available for the 2012 grant distribution year. Please contact Linda Rubin, Grants Chair LCCF with any questions about the grant process. The grant application packets are available at Baldwin Lumber or on our website at www.lakecountycf.org.The grant application period is open until March 19, 2012.
