BALDWIN — The Shrine of the Pines is hosting a free family fun day as part of the Baldwin Sesquicentennial for families to come enjoy the beautiful museum grounds with an activity-packed day.

The event is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Shrine of the Pines, 8962 S. M-37, Baldwin.

Included in the fun is a bouncy house and duck derby race events. Many local agencies and businesses will be on site with tables of fun games and educational goodies.

To participate in the duck derby race is $5, and "top duck" wins $100. Call Kellie Allen at 231-729-1828 to register. Proceeds go to Shrine of the Pines.

The museum also will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide tours at regular admission prices ($10 for adults, $7 for seniors and veterans, $5 for children over 5, $25 family rate for two adults and three kids and active duty military is always free.) The gift shop also will be open.

The Shrine of the Pines is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Mondays until the end of September. The museum is always looking for volunteers. For more information, contact 231-745-7892 or visit www.theshrineofthepines.com for an application.
