Raymond Orlo Moore

BITELY — Raymond Orlo Moore, 70, of Bitely, passed away at his home on Jan. 17, 2017, after a long battle with heart disease.

Ray was born in Cheboygan on Sept. 18, 1946, to Robert and Irma (Babcock) Moore. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Ray married Chris Young on Oct. 30, 1971, in Harbor Springs and they enjoyed over 45 years of marriage. After Ray retired from Rockford Public Schools, he and his wife moved to Bitely in 2005. Ray loved to hunt, fish and travel. He was a very caring person; always willing to help out others. He will be remembered as the person who would give his last penny to someone in need.

Ray is survived by his wife, Chris (Young) Moore; sons, Jason (Lisa) Moore, of Wyoming, Michael (Shawna) Moore, of Denver, Colo. and Darrin (Michelle) Moore, of Warren; five grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Gerry Russell) Moore, of Levering; brothers, Ron (Donna) Moore, of Alanson; Terry Moore, of Wolverine, Kirk Moore, of Pellston, and Bryce (Carlotta) Moore, of Kinross; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sidney, Rick and Gary; and his brother, Ernie, who passed away 23 hours after Ray’s passing.
