OBIT: Sherda Braginton

Sherda Braginton, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Baldwin, Monday, June 27, 2011. She was born in Plainwell, Michigan, September 8, 1932, to John “Avery” and Irene (Wagner) Lett. She was a 1950 High School Graduate of Plainwell High School.

Sherda and her husband Charles (“Bud”) were the proprietors of the Baldwin Bowling Center for 19 years. Sherda held the elected position of Lake County Treasurer for 12 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a very active member and supporter of her community.

Sherda was the loving mother of, and is survived by two daughters, Carol Wallace and Amy Park both of Baldwin; three sons, Andrew (Tami) Braginton of Grandville, Craig (Karen) Braginton of Texas, and Dave (Lori) Braginton of Baldwin; eleven grand children; four great grand children; and a special nephew James (Mary) Bump. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; two brothers, James “Wes” Let and Donald Lett; two sisters, Evelyn Bump and Gwendalyn Lett and son-in-law Bruce Park.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Verdun Funeral Home in Baldwin. Rev Susan Webler officiated. Burial followed in the Pleasant Plains Twp. Cemetery.
