Michigan officials react to Kyra Harris Bolden’s appointment to state's top court
Bolden is set to take oath in January after her House term ends.
Kyra Harris Bolden is Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's choice to fill the seat vacated by Justice Bridget Mary McCormack on the Michigan Supreme Court.
Bolden, 34, will be the first Black woman to serve on the state's top court and is Whitmer's first appointment to the court, Whitmer announced Tuesday afternoon in a press release.
