
Kids will get to enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny next Sunday at the Luther Lions Hall. More Easter activities will be hosted in the community the following weekend, as well.
Courtesy photoLAKE COUNTY — With Easter approaching, kids will have the opportunity to hunt for bright, colorful Easter eggs and enjoy other Easter-themed activities. Both the Luther Lions Club and Baldwin Lions Club have fun Easter events coming up.
Families can join the Luther Lions Club for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and the Easter Bunny's assistant, followed by an egg hunt Sunday, April 3, at the Luther Lions Hall, 1003 N. State Street, Luther.
Breakfast, including sausage, eggs, potatoes, ham, biscuits and gravy and french toast will be served from 9-11 a.m. Breakfast is $9 per adult, and $4 for kids. Following breakfast, kids will be able to hunt for Easter eggs outside, weather permitting. Age groups for the hunt are 0-4, 5-8, and 9-12.
The week following, the Baldwin Lions Club is partnering with VFW Peacock Post No. 5315 for a Kid's Community Easter Egg Hunt and Party. From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, kids are invited to an Easter celebration, including an Easter egg hunt, food and games, at the VFW Hall, 2225 M-37, Baldwin. Hot dogs, chips and lemonade will be served. There also is a chance to win door prizes.
Luther Area Public Library (115 State St., Luther) also will have fun activities. Teens (13-19) are invited to help stuff Easter eggs at 6 p.m. Friday, April 8. Pizza will be provided. At 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, teens can help hide the eggs, and enjoy donuts. The egg hunt for kids will take place at 11 a.m., immediately following story hour.
There will be an Easter Egg Hunt for people with special needs, as well as bonnet contest, at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Circle Rocking S Children's Farm, 5487 Tuttle Rd., Free Soil. The event will take place in the barn, with more than 3,000 eggs to find. Areas of the barn will be accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and for those who are visually impaired.
After the egg hunt, kids can join in making Ukrainian Easter eggs. Participants are asked to bring two hard-boiled eggs each for this project. This event is open to people with special needs of all ages, and are asked to reserve by April 8, by calling 231-462-3732 or email circlerockingsfarm@att.net.
