Lake County entrepreneur chosen as finalist in Pitch North contest

The Zen Den Boutique in Idlewild will compete for $5,000 top prize

LAKE COUNTY — Local Idlewild entrepreneur Susan Matous, owner of The Zen Den Boutigue has been selected as one of five regional entrepreneurs to pitch her business to a panel of judges during the fourth annual Pitch North competition from 4 to 6 p.m., June 14, at Hertiage Farm, 1888 S. Maple Island Rd., Fremont.

Pitch North is the region’s first of its kind entrepreneurial pitching competition, where entrepreneurs from Lake, Newago and Oceana counties can pitch their business ideas for a chance to win one of five cash prizes. 

Finalists will compete for a share of more than $17,000 in cash and prizes to bring their ideas to life. The finalists were selected from a pool of 25 submissions. Each finalist will be given five minutes to present their business idea, followed by questions from the judges.

Other finalists include:

  • Andrea Simon, A New Era of Crafting in Oceana County;
  • Tim Liberty, Camp Box in Newaygo County;
  • Breann Conkle, Country Breeze Massage in Newaygo County; and
  • Thomas and Deserai Reichard, Northern Rustic Designs Furniture in Newaygo County.

Pitch North is hosted by The Right Place, Inc., in partnership with economic development alliances in Lake, Newago and Oceana counties and is made possible by sponsorships from local business.
