
Lake County residents cast their ballots for the Aug. 2 primary election which saw some new additions to county commissioner seats.
DeBrock, RonaldLAKE COUNTY — Lake County residents cast their ballots for the Aug. 2 primary election which included county commissioner seats and millages.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Lake County turnout stood at 26.36% with 2,752 voters, according to unofficial results posted by Lake County Clerk Patti Pacola at www.electionreporting.com.
In the race for county board of commissioners, current commissioners Robert Sanders (R), District 1, Howard Lodholtz, District 2, Dawn Martin, District 4, Don Arquette, District 5, and Christine Balulis, District 6, ran unopposed.
In District 3, incumbent Betty Dermyer did not run for re-election. According to unofficial results, candidate Kristine Raymond (R) led candidate Robert Snedeker (R) by a vote of 206 to 107 for the Republican nomination. Candidate Kelly Weaver (D), who ran unopposed for the Democrat nomination, garnered 66 votes. Weaver will face Raymond in the general election in November.
In District 7, current commissioner Len Todd (R) received 84 votes in the Republican primary, while candidate Clyde Welford (D) received 62 votes in the Democratic primary. They will face each other in the November election.
Lake County voters approved the Reed City School District Operating Millage Renewal proposal with 186 yes votes and 137 no votes.
