Election Day is November 8. For information about local elections call the Lake County clerk’s office at 231-745-2725. To view a sample ballot visit michigan.gov/elections.

The Lake County Sportsman’s Club will host a free “Site-in Day” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 5, at the range, 7249 S. McKinley Rd., Baldwin. Take Forman Rd. to Baldwin Rd., go west on Baldwin Rd. ~2.5 miles to McKinley, turn south on McKinley. Snacks & Refreshments will be provided. The event is open to the general public. Come try our 100, 200, & 300 yard ranges. Range officers will be onsite to assist you. Come check us out & make sure your weapon is on target.

Michigan State University Extension will offer 4-H In the Kitchen: Whodunit Edition from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Nov. 3 & 10 at the Mason County Reformed Church, 45 S. The Big Rapids AMVETS Post 1941 will host a Veteran’s Day parade and gathering starting at 11 a.m., Nov. 11, in downtown Big Rapids and ending at the AMVETS hall. The event will honor all Vietnam Veterans. For information email jduvall@losb.com .

The Lake County Sportsman’s Club will host its annual Hunters Dinner will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., Nov. 12, at the VFW Post 5315, 2225 S. M-37, Baldwin. Dinner will include steak or chicken, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans, rolls and dessert. The event will include door prizes, and raffles. Tickets are $15 at the door.

The Mason-Lake Conservation District board of directors will meet at 4 p.m., Nov. 21, at the Scottville branch of the mason County Library, 204 E. State St., Scottville. The public is welcome to attend.

The Reed City Area Ministerial Association Coat Pantry is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., each Wednesday through the winter season at Reed City United Methodist Church, 503 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. For more information call 231-250-2790.

The Salvation Army of Big Rapids has opened a Fresh Start Baby Pantry for families with children under age 5 in Mecosta, Osceola, Lake and Newaygo counties. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information visit sabigrapids.org.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5315 hosts Bar Bingo every Wednesday beginning at 3:30 p.m. and Queen of Hearts drawing at 5 p.m. Public is welcome at the post, 2225 S M-37, Baldwin. For more information call 231-745-2134.

The Luther Lions Club will host an all you can eat breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., the first Sunday of every month. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. Breakfast will include biscuits and gravy, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, French toast, pancakes, orange juice and coffee.

The Duane E. Dewey AMVETS Post 1988 hosts Euchre at 1 p.m., every Monday, at the AMVETS hall, 1959 W. 24th St., Baldwin. For more information call 231- 745-2550.
