•    There will be a Lake County ORV meeting at 1 p.m., May 19, in the commissioners’ room at the lake County Courthouse, 800 Tenth Ave., Baldwin. The topic of discussion will be opening portions of M-37 to ORV traffic near the Village of Baldwin. For more information call 231-745-2725.

•    The Lake County board of commissioners will meet at 10 a.m., May 25, at the Lake County Courthouse, 800 Tenth Ave., Baldwin. For more information visit or call 231-745-2725.

•    The Luther Lions Club will host a homemade meatloaf dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m., May 25. All you can eat is $12 for adults and $6 for kids 6 to 12. Dinner will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed vegetable, roll, coffer, tea, or lemonade and dessert.

•    The North Central Arts Council will host its annual Memorial Day weekend craft show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday May 28 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 29, on the Houghton Lake High School grounds. The event will have over 60 vendors. A food tent will be available. Entry is free. For more information call 517-676-9498.

•    The Blessing of the ORVs will take place May 29, at Skinner Park in Irons. Vendors, food, and ORV riding information will be available throughout the day. Gates open at 10 a.m., blessing at noon, corn-hole tournament at 3 p.m. and live music at 6 p.m. For more information visit

•    The Duane E. Dewey AMVETS Post 1988 hosts Euchre at 1 p.m., every Monday, at the AMVETS hall, 1959 W. 24th St., Baldwin. For more information call 231- 745-2550.

•    Bring your walking shoes! The Luther Lions Club. 1003 N. State St., Luther is open for indoor walking from noon to 1 p.m., on Mondays and Thursdays. 

•    The Luther Lions Club is hosting Tai Chi for arthritis with Jan Katz from 1 to 2 p.m., Mondays immediately following the walking program. The class is free with a silver sneakers program. A minimum $2 donation is requested if not in the program.
The Luther Lions Club will host Luther Lions club breakfast an all you can eat breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., the first Sunday of every month. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. Breakfast will include biscuits and gravy, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, French toast, pancakes, orange juice and coffee.

•    The Grand Rapids Red Project is hosting a syringe exchange from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday at the corner of Maple and 9th streets in Baldwin. For more information call 231-563-6865.
