Lake County community events calendar

•    The Pathfinder Community Library is now open to the public. Visitors are limited to 10 at a time, for 30 minutes per visit. For more information on rules and procedures visit pathfinderlibrary.org or call 231-745-4010.

•    MSU Extension is offering Michigan Cottage Food Law Training at 6 p.m., Mar. 21. To register call 877-643-9882. For more information visit canr.msu.edu/cottage_food_law/events.

•    The Lake County board of commissioners will meet at 10 a.m., March 9, at the Lake County Courthouse, 800 Tenth St., Baldwin. For more information visit lakecounty-michigan.com or call 231-745-2725.

•    The Webber Township board of trustees will meet at 6 p.m., March 10 at the township hall, 2286 W. Springtime St., Baldwin. For more information visit webbertownship.org or call 231-745-3471.

•    The Feeding America Food Truck will be at Luther Lions Club, 1003 N. State St., Luther, at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 10.

•    The Irons Area Tourist Association is hosting a “Cabin Fever Reliever Party” from 7 p.m. to midnight, March 12, at Skinner Park Hall, 5074 W. 10 ½ Mile Rd., Irons. A chili cook-off will start at 6 p.m. Entrants must register between 3 and 5:45 p.m and provide a full crock pot of chili. Live music by Onager will begin at 8 p.m. BYOB – coolers are allowed. Food donations will be collected for distribution to those in need.

•    The Reed City Knights of Columbus Council 12668 in Reed City is sponsoring a Corned Beef and Cabbage/Baked Potato dinner fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 15 at Pere Marquette Bistro and Catering, 102 East Upton Ave., Reed City. Dinners will be packaged in micro-wave ready containers for easy pick up. All orders are take-out, and no pre-ordering is required. Prices are $14 for adults and $7 for children under 10. Proceeds will go to the Susan P. Wheatland Regional Cancer Center.

•    The 2022 Kenny Daugherty Memorial “Snow Chicken” fundraiser will take place starting at 9 a.m., March 19 at Peacock, Ltd., 276 M-37, Baldwin. A $20 donation will get you in the door. Snacks and beverages will be available. A drawing for door prizes will be held at 2 p.m. You must be present to win. 

•    The Sauble Township board of trustees will meet at 6 p.m., March 28, at the township Hall, 8906 W. 6 Mile Rd., Irons. For more information visit saubletwp.org or call 231-266-8384.

•    The Luther Public Library, 115 State St., Luther, is having a CD sale throughout March. CD’s can be purchased for $1 each. Proceeds will support the library.

•    The Duane E. Dewey AMVETS Post 1988 hosts Euchre at 1 p.m., every Monday, at the AMVETS hall, 1959 W. 24th St., Baldwin. For more information call 231- 745-2550.

•    Bring your walking shoes! The Luther Lions Club. 1003 N. State St., Luther is open for indoor walking from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Mondays and Thursdays.
