BALDWIN — There is still room for ladies in the area to sign up for Ladies Day of Inspiration with guest speaker Barb Roose with the conference theme, "Beautiful Already."

The inter-faith conference will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at AMVETS Post no. 1988 in Baldwin. Lunch will be provided by Pere Marquette Catering, and a suggested donation is $20.

Eighty women are already signed up, but there is room for about 120 women, organizers said. Teens are especially encouraged to attend.

Event organizer Sheri Weller, of ISE (Inspire Support and Encourage), is excited about the community event, which was canceled for a couple years because of COVID-19.

"The past few years, because of COVID and other issues, has been an ugly time. With this event, our group Inspire Support and Encourage has the goal to lift up the spirit of the ladies in our area," Weller said.

"Last time Barb was here, she did an excellent job. She travels all over the country with the group Women Aspire. We are really excited to have her here. Barb has said she is super excited to be presenting again."

Through this event, and in future outreaches, Weller hopes to reach teens and help them with challenges.

"Through ugliness, there is bullying in school, which is tough. We want to reach teens and bring them into the lady's fold, connecting them with Christian women to get through these things," she said.

Weller said she would like to get workshops going for teen girls to help uplift them and empower them in life, free of cost to them. During the Saturday event, this topic will be brought up as well to generate ideas and get a feel for what is wanted for the community.

Pre-registration for Ladies Day of Inspiration is required. Reservations can be made by contacting 231-721-5143 or emailing ISE1@PROTONMAIL.COM.
