Jesse Davis

Jesse Earnest Davis was born June 20, 1937 in Big Rapids. He passed away at home in Baldwin on March 6, 2012.

Jesse was in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Wolverine Shoe Company and then was employed by the Lake County Road Commission. After retirement from the Road Commission, Jesse spent his time with his loved ones, did some traveling and enjoyed taking care of the birds, turkeys and his deer.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammie (Matthew) Hoffman of Branch, Jessica (Daniel) Hoffman of Cadillac and Kimberly (Douglas) Eby of Constantine; a son, Terry (Robin Hall) of White Pigeon; his significant other, Joann Lapp of Baldwin; brother, Martin (Joane) Davis of Big Rapids; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; mother, Virginia; brother, Junior; sister Oweda; and a grandchild, Jeremy.

There will be a memorial luncheon at VFW Post 5315 in Baldwin on Saturday, March 17 beginning at 1 p.m. The event will be hosted by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Donations will be accepted at that time for Hospice of Michigan, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, or the Renucci Hospitality House of Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids.
