Idlewild shop owner puts the "giving" in Thanksgiving

IDLEWILD — Thanksgiving is a time of year when people reflect on their blessings and what they are thankful for, and one local business took the time to extend this holiday spirit  to three local families.

This is the fourth year Latasha South, owner of Wet Jewelz Clothing and Girlz in Idlewild, hosted a Thanksgiving giveaway drawing.

Her models for her clothing business helped with donations for two ham dinners and a turkey dinner.

South loves keeping this special Thanksgiving tradition.

"It makes me feel good to help others. I always pay it forward, "she said.

The participants of the drawing had to comment what they were thankful for and how many people were in their family on South's Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway post on Facebook, for a chance to win the dinners.

Tammy Burrell and Julie Stutzman won the ham dinners, and Candy Jacobs won the turkey dinner, during the drawing Nov. 23.

"I am thankful for God being with our families from the youngest to oldest, lighting up our relationships, sowing grace into our troubles, weaving love into our work, our rest, and our play," was the response from Burrell.

South was thrilled with how this year's giveaway turned out.

"Wet Jewelz Thanksgiving dinner giveaway was wonderful, and I'm so happy I could help out this year," she said, thanking everyone who supports her and allowing for a fourth year of being able to bless others at this time. "I'm super proud."
