Idlewild Jazz and Blues Festival draws crowds

IDLEWILD — John Meeks Park was packed with crowds enjoying live music in celebration of Idlewild's rich music heritage during the annual Idlewild Jazz and Blues Festival on Saturday.

The shade in the scenic park was ideal, with musical favorites ringing through the woods, performed by scheduled bands such as Pricilla Price, Ed Stone and the Flowmasters and Asumi Johnson and the Associates of the Blues.

DJ entertainment also was provided by STL Entertainment at the free event, sponsored by Idlewild African American Chamber of Commerce.

Along with great live music, people were able to enjoy food and shopping vendors at the festival.
