Elizabeth June Syrewicze

Elizabeth June (Heyd) Syrewicze, 86, of Luther, passed over into Heaven’s gates after a short illness on Wednesday August 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was born June 6, 1927 in Luther to Estella (Giddings) and Charles Heyd, was raised in the Luther and Bristol area, and was a 1945 graduate of Luther High School. On June 26, 1947 she was married to Simeon Richard Syrewicze of Luther who passed away in 2007. She was employed for 22 years with the Pine River Public Schools as a school bus driver until her retirement in 1988. June was a lifelong member of the Luther Church of Christ and the Christian Women’s Fellowship and served as the church pianist and organist for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother deeply loved by so many.

Left behind to mourn her loss are her daughter, Chris (Steve) Lucas of Bryant, AR, sons, Jay (Marianne) Syrewicze and Lee (Debbie) Syrewicze both of Luther; grandchildren Michelle (Jimmy) Lawhon, Chad (Lisa) Lucas, Allison Syrewicze (Jim Bednarick), Andy (Crystal) Syrewicze, Emilee Syrewicze, Shellee (David) Holes, Scott (Tonya) Jesweak, Malinda and Jason Jesweak; 13 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Theresa Heyd. She was preceded in death by parents Charles and Estella Heyd, husband Richard Syrewicze, son Rich Syrewicze, brothers Lewis, Arden, Clinton, and Marvin Heyd, and sister Evelyn Corrigan.
