"American Pickers" is a documentary series that explores the world of antique "picking" on The History Channel. The hit show follows skilled pickers in the business as they hunt for America's most valuable antiques. They are always in search of sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them.

The show follows antique and collectible picker Mike Wolfe, who travels around the United States to buy, or "pick," various items for resale, for clients or for their personal collections.

Fellow picker Danielle Colby runs the office of Wolfe's business, Antique Archaeology, from their home base in Le Claire, Iowa, and more recently at a second location in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wolfe goes on the road, not only following up leads that Colby has generated, but also "freestyling" — stopping at places that look like they might hold items worth buying. They also pick some places more than once.

Producers from the show are looking for leads throughout Michigan, specifically interesting characters with fascinating items and lots of them, according to a press release. They find people and collections for the show through spreading the word far and wide so that people know they’re coming to town.

Collectors interested in being considered for the show should reach out to producers by phone at 646-493-2184 or email at AmericanPickers@cineflix.com. Those emails should include their full name, city/state, contact information and a brief description of their collection, with photos, if possible.

Producers emphasized they only pick private collections, not stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public. Production teams plan to also follow all guidelines related to COVID and protocols for safe filming as outlined by the state, according to the press release.
