Bread of Life Pantry in Baldwin thankful for donations and volunteers

Organization serves over 140 families each week

BALDWIN — Houseman’s Food Center in Baldwin wrapped up its “Donation at Checkout” campaign over the Labor Day weekend, collecting $691.34 to donate to Bread of Life Pantry.

The “Donation at Checkout Campaign" has raised over $3093 for the year, Bread of Life Pantry director Lynne Mills said.

“Thank you so much for your continued support in this great campaign,” she said. “Great job, team.”

On Sept. 14, Wesco held a corporate mission day of volunteering at the Bread of Life Pantry. David Morris from Wesco in Baldwin coordinated a group of 10 volunteers to help unload the Feeding America delivery, stock shelves and shop grocery orders, Mills said.

“Thank you for taking the time to spend with us and helping to serve our community,” she said. “There were representatives from around the region. Good job, team.”

Bread of Life Pantry has been seeing nearly 140 families each week, Mills said.

“We greatly appreciate all of the weekly individual donations that come in all year long. There are so many people that help, and I just thank God for all He sends our way, through every single donated item, time given by volunteers and money to replenish our supplies,” Mills said. “All things are possible with God, and this is how He does it. Through all of us! God bless you all on behalf of myself and the Bread of Life pantry.”
