PLEASANT PLAINS — For those who know Beth Knight, deputy treasurer for Lake County and clerk for Pleasant Plains Township, serving others is a big part of who she is. The community now has a chance to give back.

Due to a major medical issue, people will have an opportunity to rally in support of Knight through two benefits to raise money to help with medical expenses.

A spaghetti dinner and bake sale will take place 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Pleasant Plains Township Hall, 7333 M-37, Baldwin.

People also will be able to support her 8-11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Pleasant Plains Township Hall with a breakfast buffet and bake sale.

“All of us at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are deeply saddened for one of our dear colleagues, Beth Knight, who is the chief deputy for the treasurer’s office and township clerk for Pleasant Plains Township, who suffered a major medical issue this past week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Knight and Figger families,” Sheriff Rich Martin said.

Martin said the LCSO also is taking donations for the family, in addition to the two benefits, which will go to help the family with medical expenses.
