Baldwin schools to celebrate Class of 2022 at Decision Day event

BALDWIN — Baldwin Community Schools is proud to honor the Class of 2022 at its annual Decision Day, where seniors announce their post-high school plans.

The event will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Baldwin High School gymnasium, 525 4th St. Baldwin staff, families and students from fifth through 12th grades will be in attendance. 

“This is a special tradition we cherish at Baldwin Community Schools, where we celebrate our seniors as they share their plans and vision for the future,” superintendent David Forrester said. “I am truly proud of our resilient seniors, who have overcome so many obstacles and challenges these past two years with the pandemic. I hope our community will join us in celebrating these amazing young adults as they move on to the next phase of their lives, whether that be college or careers.”

Graduates are eligible to receive scholarships through the Baldwin Promise, a program that provides students financial assistance with tuition and fees for college. The Baldwin Promise has awarded more than $600,000 to high school seniors since it began awarding scholarships in 2010. The program is one of 15 Michigan Promise Zones statewide and is the only rural zone. The Baldwin Promise provides up to $5,000 per year for up to five years to all eligible Baldwin graduates to be used at trade schools, public universities, community colleges or private colleges in Michigan.
