Baldwin High School receives high ranking context and performance report card

BALDWIN — Baldwin High School ranked number seven, making a list of 25 high schools in the state to be recognized on the 2016 Michigan Public High School Context and Performance Report Card put out by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

"Every year Mackinaw Center for Public Policy ranks schools based on assessment data and socio-economic status," explained Baldwin High School principal Calvin Patillo.

"This ranking showcases schools which may not have been expected to perform well due to economic factors. Baldwin, compared to other schools, has a higher percentage of students who get free or reduced lunch, but this doesn't stop our students from achieving."

Patillo explained the formula put together by the Mackinaw Center for Public Policy considers the last three years of school assessment results to determine ranking.
