Annual Baked Potato Supper returns to St. Ann in Baldwin

BALDWIN — After two years of not having the annual Baked Potato Supper, St. Ann Senior Center was bustling once again with volunteers throughout the county serving up steaming hot baked potatoes with all the fixings for a great cause.

The event, held Saturday, benefits the Lake County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Fremont Area Community Foundation, so they can continue to support outreaches, endeavors and nonprofit activity throughout Lake County.

The baked potato each guest received nearly filled a dinner plate. Choices of meat toppings, cheese, sour cream and onions were generously heaped on each potato, served with sides of coleslaw, jello, desserts and a drink.

The event was a success with a steady stream of people flowing in throughout the day, volunteers said.

"We were happy to be able to bring the Baked Potato Supper back after two years," event organizer Lori Braginton said. "The crowd was pleased and the food was wonderful. A big thank you to the local businesses who showed their support by donating gift cards and certificates for our raffle, and also to the Lake County Girl Scouts who helped clean tables and assist with carry outs.”

In addition to a delicious meal, people also enjoyed participating in a raffle for fun prizes.
