Why not come before Jesus and repent today?

Jesus could come today. Are you ready? The Bible says, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). From what do you repent? And, what do you mean repent? Basically, change your thinking. If you think salvation is based or obtained by good works, repent. As Mark says, believe the gospel. Christ came from eternity past to take upon himself flesh to be our sacrifice for our sins. The sin problem must be solved.

Who can do it? Only Jesus, the only begotten son of God, can give us eternal life. He purchased the gift of eternal life with his shed blood on the cross. Jesus rose from the borrowed grave after the third day. We have a living saviour not a dead religious leader. “And they went out, and preached that men should repent” (Mark 6:12). Do you believe God? Why not repent? The Psalmist says, “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psa. 34:18).

Have you humbled yourself before almighty God? The God in the Bible will save you through Christ. He loves you and has given his all for us. That fact makes it possible for him to help us. “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds” (Psa. 147:3). To repent, we must change our thinking about salvation if it varies from God’s plan. If you are trusting in baptism for salvation, repent. If you are trusting in good works for salvation, repent. If you are trusting in keeping the ten commandments for salvation,

repent.

Religious good works is not what God is looking for to save you. Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matt. 7:21-23). The only way to heaven is repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).

The good news is Jesus has come to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10.) Without Christ there is no hope to avoid the fires of hell. Jesus says, “For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Matt. 9:13). Do you believe God? Then you must repent of your sins. Jesus said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Your eternal destination is at stake. Why not solve your eternal future, and repent believing on Christ today? Remember Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
