The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending May 5:

  • Beth Ann Beeler,36, of Hesperia, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and improper plates. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 9 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Morgan Nichole Bergman, 25, of Bitely, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent with the condition of no contact with the victim.
  • Dustin Lee Clemens, 25, of Muskegon, was arraigned on charges of operating while intoxicated/impaired/in the presence of a controlled substance-second, driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate and domestic violence/second offense.
  • A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent with conditions of no alcohol and no contact with the victim.
  • Dustin Christopher Coffman, 28, of Reed City, was arraigned on a charge of assault/assault and battery. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15 at 10 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Jeremy Alan Colbert, 35, of Sparta, had a charge of assault/assault and battery dismissed.
  • James Russell Cross, 22, of Irons, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  • Dwayne Gene Gardner, 31, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to an added charge of attempted child abuse-third degree. Sentencing was scheduled for June 3, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. A charge of child abuse-third degree was dismissed. Bond of $15,000, ten percent was continued.
  • Israel Dominic Guillen, 41, of Petosky, was bound over to Circuit Court on charges of breaking and entry without breaking with intent and habitual offender-fourth offense notice. Bond remained set at $2,500, ten percent.
  • Casey James Hefferan, 21, of Rockford, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Holly Ann Jones, 28, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of retail fraud-third degree. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail, to serve 12 days now (4 weekends), beginning 5-2-14.
  • Anthony Lee Knight, 20, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent.
  • Joseph Eugene Meyers, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail to serve 30 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for six months with a restricted license after 30 days.
  • Richard Bryan Nelson, 32, of Bitely, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for May 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Jacqueline Ann Rappuhn, 44, of Irons, pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a motor vehicle/joyriding. A sentencing was scheduled for May 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. A charge of unlawful driving away of an automobile was dismissed.
  • Jessica Lynn Vlassis, 26, of Cadillac, pleaded guilty to an added count of operating impaired. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,150 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. Charges of operating with a high blood alcohol content and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate were dismissed.
