The following action was taken in regards to a DNR offense during April 2014:

  • Jesse Lee Jones, of LeRoy, pleaded no contest to a charge of fishing in a closed stream. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $230.
  • The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending April 14, 2014:
  • Brittany Ann Cottrell, 27, of Flint, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended.allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of unlawful driving away an auto was dismissed.
  • Dino Roberto Dasaro,54, of Fountain, pleaded guilty to an added charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and one weekend in jail. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate-second subsequent was dismissed.
  • Monroe Grimes Jr., 45, of Saginaw, was bound over to Circuit Court on charges of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance-less than 50 grams, maintaining a drug house and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. Bond was set at $25,000, ten percent.
  • Danell Antone Henderson, 40, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a count of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for April 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. The defendant was free on a personal recognizance bond.
  • Karen Ann Johnson, 41, of Irons, pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic violence. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Pierre Roy Johnson, 24, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance-marijuana. A preliminary examination was scheduled for April 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent.
  • Eric Odell Lewis, 20, of Ludington, pleaded guilty to an added charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to 93 days in jail, to serve 35 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate-second subsequent was dismissed.
  • Gary Wayne Littleton, 37, of Kalamazoo, pleaded guilty to an added charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, 93 days in jail with credit for time served of one day, and to serve one weekend in jail. Charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate-second subsequent and operating a motor vehicle without security were dismissed.
  • Debra Faye Maiville, 50, of Irons, pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of children. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $350, 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, and to attend counseling.
  • Joshua Michael Mead, 35, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate-second subsequent. A pretrial was scheduled for April 24, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent.
  • Kenneth Joseph Scales, 19, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for April 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Jeffrey Louis Shoemaker, 47, of Chase, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for April 24, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Cain Eugene Smith, 34, of Idlewild, pleaded guilty to a charge of controlled substance-second offense. The defendant was sentenced to one year and one day to two years MDOC with credit for time served of 41 days, fines and costs of $68. and crime victims restitution of $130.
  • Cain Eugene Smith, 34, of Idlewild, pleaded guilty to parole violation. The defendant was discharged without success.
  • Feliacia Rena Williams, 35, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of parole violation. A parole violation hearing was scheduled for April 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set for $20,000, cash or surety.
  • David Richard Smith, 33, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of larceny-$200-$1,000. A pretrial was scheduled for April 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Patricia Eileen Tjapkes, 31, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was set for April 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $2,500, ten percent.
  • Alyssa Ann Waldo, 21, of Copemish, had a charge of operating while intoxicated dismissed.
  • Christopher Allen Zweigle, 39, of Branch, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering without owners permission. A pretrial was scheduled for April 24, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000, ten percent with the condition of no contact with victim or victim’s residence.
