Trial Court for 4-21-2011

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, Apr. 7, 2011:

•Darrin Darnell Williams, 40 of Idlewild, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny ($200 — $1,000).  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve one year (30 days now CTS).

•Ryan Scott Cole, 21 of Chase, pleaded guilty to a charge of having no proof of insurance.  A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

•Todd Dinan Lyonnais, 34 of Lowell,  pleaded guilty to a charge of prohibited snowmobile operation (speed, etc.).   A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate was dismissed.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250.

•Steven Curtis Cook, 30 of Lowell, pleaded guilty to charges of disturbing the peace and of prohibited snowmobile operation (speed, etc.).   Charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) and of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) were dismissed.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $500 and to serve 90 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

•Irene Kay Baker, 55 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of OWI.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $1, 030 and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

•Christopher Allen Smith,  21 of Muskegon, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).  The defendant was sentenced to serve one year; 30 days now (CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.  His driver’s license is suspended (restricted license after 30 days).

•Christina Lynn Kunna, 25 of Grand Rapids, pleaded  to guilty to a charge of larceny ($200 — $1,000).  Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 2 p.m.  The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Pierce Harrison Webb, 27 of Baldwin, had a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon dismissed.

•Christopher Lee Fisher, 35 of Traverse City, was arraigned on a charge of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams.  Preliminary examination was scheduled for Apr. 5 at 2 p.m.  Bond was set at $7,500.  The defendant was currently lodged.

•Andrew James Kehr, 18 of Big Rapids, pleaded not guilty to charges of OWI and of alcohol possession in a motor vehicle (passenger).  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 1:30 p.m.  Bond was set at $5,000.   The defendant was currently lodged.

•Nichole Paige Colosky, 18 of Big Rapids, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 2 p.m.  Bond was set at $3,500.   The defendant was currently lodged.

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, Apr. 14:

•Michael Lee Gabrion, 29 of White Cloud, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaking and entering a vehicle with damage to the vehicle. An additional count of breaking and entering a vehicle with damage to the vehicle was dismissed.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $266, restitution of $906.85 and to serve one year and 11 months to five years.

•Ann Blandy Apostle, 43 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic violence.  The defendant was sentenced to serve 93 days; 36 days now (CTS)  and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

•Matthew Raymond Pratt, 40 of Bitely, pleaded not guilty to a charge of third-degree retail fraud.  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 9 a.m.   The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Robert Lewis Jamison, 52 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny by conversion.  Sentencing was scheduled for May 9 at 1:30 p.m.  The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Jackie Lynn Pittman, 29 of Idlewild, pleaded  guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250.

•Dino Roberto Dasaro, 51 of Fountain, was arraigned on a charge of OWI (third offense).  Preliminary examination was scheduled for Apr. 19 at 1:30 p.m.  The defendant is free on $1,500 bond.

•Adam Levi Smith, 26 of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of OWI.  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 2 p.m.  Bond was continued at $3,500.  The defendant was currently lodged.

•Kevin Michael Willis, 28 of Big Rapids, pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense).  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 1:30 p.m.  The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Richard Lee Abbott, 53 of Canadian Lakes, pleaded not guilty to a charge of operating with the presence of a controlled substance.  Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 15 at 11 a.m.  The defendant is free on $3,500 bond.

•Deeann Gale Yatch, 46 of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of OWI. Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 9 a.m.   The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Michel Edward Priest, 53 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of identity theft.  Sentencing was scheduled for May 10 at 1:30 p.m.  The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•William Joseph Eagle, 58 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of use of a non-narcotic controlled substance.   The defendant was sentenced to serve 90 days; 30 days now (seven days CTS).  His driver’s license is suspended (restricted license after 30 days).

•Douglas Macarthur Mann, Jr., pleaded guilty to a charge of disturbing the peace.  Charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) and of having improper plates were dismissed.   The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350 and to serve 90 days; 14 days now and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

•Matthew James Meikle, 38 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of having no proof of insurance.  A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.  The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250.

•Vern Joseph Eagle, 19 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).  The defendant was sentenced to serve 90 days; 30 days now (seven days CTS).

•Peter Lamont Brown, 37 of Brethren, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance (second or subsequent offense) and of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense).  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 1:30 p.m.  The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Christopher Lee Fisher, 35 of Traverse City, was bound over to circuit court on a charge of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams.   The defendant is free on $7,500 bond.

•Frederick Donell Ezell, 53 of Wyoming, was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery.  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 9 a.m.  The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Damara Quintel Brewer, 23 of Big Rapids, was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery.  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 2 p.m.  The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Joseph Edwin Robinson, 48 of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of disorderly person — obscene conduct.  Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 2 p.m.  The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Ken Vincent Tetzlaff, 40 of Baldwin, was bound over to circuit court on charges of OWI (third offense) and of being an habitual offender (fourth offense).  Bond was set at $50,000.  The defendant was currently lodged.

•Robert Lewis Jamison, 52 of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of larceny by conversion less than $1,000.  Pretrial was scheduled for  May 5 at 1:30 p.m.  Bond was set at $3,500.  The defendant was currently lodged.

•Jeremiah Edward Perez, 31 of Allegan, was arraigned on a charge of larceny less than $200.  Bond was set at $3,500.

•Stefanie Lynn Thompson, 28 of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of larceny less than $200.  Pretrial was scheduled for  May 5 at 2 p.m.  Bond was set at $3,500.  The defendant was currently lodged.

•Michael Lee Oisten, 30 of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening a Department of Human Services employee with physical harm.   The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve one year; five days or 40 hours community service work now.
