Trial Court 3-31

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, Mar. 24, 2011:

•James Curtis Blue, 54, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of altering/forging or falsifying a license plate. Preliminary examination was scheduled for Apr. 4 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

•John Henry Wall, 46, of Comstock Park, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to serve ten days (concurrent with a previous sentence for criminal contempt of court).

•Markisha Denise Jones, 23, of Idlewild, pleaded no contest to a charge of assault and battery. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $150, restitution of $159.34, and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

•David James Dorris, 34, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to comply with sex offender report duties. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 12 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

•Philander Williams Love, 20, of Bitely, was arraigned on charges of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams and of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on $10,000 bond.

•Gary Leeshawn Simmons, 29, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of reckless driving. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 11 a.m. The defendant is free on $2,500 bond.

•Matthew James Meikle, 39, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 10 a.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Douglas MacArthur Mann Jr., 48, of Custer, pleaded not guilty to charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) and of having improper plates. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 11 a.m. The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Timothy John Vanderberg, 32, of Kalamazoo, pleaded not guilty to a charge of OWI. Pretrial was scheduled for May 5 at 11 a.m. The defendant is free on $7,500 bond.

•Patricia Thelma Lehnen, 43, of Idlewild, was bound over to circuit court on charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) and of altering/forging or falsifying a license plate. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

•James Donald Bloom, 28, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 9 a.m. The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Richard Lee Buckout, Jr., 20, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly person/drunk and of purchase/consumption or possession of alcohol by a minor. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 7 at 2 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

•Peter Lamont Brown, 37 of Brethren, was arraigned on charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) and of possession of a controlled substance (second or subsequent offense). Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 4 at 10:30 a.m. The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

•Tamika Lynn-Ann Mallory, 30 of Morley, pleaded guilty to a charge of probation violation. The defendant was sentence to serve 60 days (13 days CTS).
