Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending Dec. 3, 2015:

Christopher John Bartlett, 42, of Irons, was sentenced to 12 months probation, six months jail, three days now with credit for time served with the balance at the discretion of the court fines and costs of $668, crime victims restitution of $130, DNA fee of $60, and a supervision fee of $120 on a charge of attempted breaking and entering - a vehicle with damage to the vehicle.

John Stephan Bozek, 70, of Rodney, was arraigned in circuit court on charges of operating intoxicated - third and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Bond was set at $50,000, cash.

Nick Adam Clemens, 40, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to criminal contempt of court. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent.

Carl Van Cooper, 47, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of prison - prisoner in possession of contraband. Sentencing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2016. A second charge of prison - possession of contraband was dismissed.

Jeremy Allen Foreman, 21, of Baldwin was arraigned in circuit court on a charge of accessory after the fact/felony. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. Bond was continued.

Jowana Shawndora Holmes, 31, of Comstock Park, pleaded guilty to charges of stalking and criminal contempt of court. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.

Jarrod Scott Horter, 33, of Oil City, PA, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly person - drunk. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of malicious destruction of property, $200 or more but less than $1,000 was dismissed.

Thomas Anthony Marsh, 43, of Beulah, pleaded guilty in circuit court to charges of fleeing and eluding police - third degree and operating intoxicated - third. The defendant was sentenced to one year and one month to five years with credit for time served of 129 days, crime victims rights of $260 and fines and costs of $136. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon, driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate - second/subsequent and possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle/passenger were dismissed.

Robert John Maue, 54, of Baldwin, was sentenced in circuit court to 24 months probation, six months jail, four months now with credit for time served of one day and the balance at the discretion of the court, fines and costs of $668, crime victims restitution of $130 and a supervision fee of $600 on a charge of criminal sexual conduct - second degree - assault. A charge of criminal sexual conduct/first degree - under 13 was dismissed.

Andrew Alan Manley, 49, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was posted.

James Henry Vanandel, 52, of Nunica, was arraigned on a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Bond of $5,000, ten percent was posted.

Steven Russell Montgomery, 54, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of driving while license expired and alcohol in possession in a motor vehicle/passenger, A pretrial is scheduled for 1;30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. Bond was set at $2,500, ten percent.

Marques Anthony Thompson, 35, of Oak Park, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance/marijuana and wildlife conservation-possession of a bow in a vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended six months, restricted license after 30 days on the first charge and fines and costs of $275 and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year on the second charge. A charge of possession of firearms in a non-game area was dismissed.

Robert Lewis Traviss Jr., 34, of Reed City, was arraigned in circuit court on two charges of wildlife conservation part - general violation, firearms-possession by a felon, wildlife conservation - taking deer/bear/turkey and habitual offender - third offense notice. A pretrial is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.

Michael John Wyant, 46, of Luther, pleaded guilty to no proof of insurance. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $150. A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.
