The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending Nov. 23, 2015:

  • Erik Monroe Boyce, 21, of Chase, was arraigned on a charge of operating with a high blood alcohol count. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent, with a condition of no alcohol.
  • John Raymond Bremer, 37, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest in circuit court on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and weapons - felony firearm. Sentencing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016. Charges of firearms - possession by a felon and habitual offender - fourth offense notice were dismissed.
  • Carl Van Cooper, 47, of Baldwin, was arraigned in circuit court on two charges of prison - prisoner in possession of contraband. A pretrial is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. Bond was set at $10,000, ten percent.
  • Deangelo Martezz Fitzgerald, 27, of Idlewild, was arraigned on charges of malicious destruction of property - $200 or more but less than $1,000. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3. Bond was set at $3.500, ten percent, with a condition of no contact.
  • Phillip Edward Henderson, 47, of Branch, pleaded guilty to a charge of fugitive from justice. A waiver of extradition was signed.
  • Kim Skyler Jones, 55, of Bitely, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly person - drunk. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Andres Lopez Wyatt, 30, of Southfield, pleaded no contest in circuit court to an added charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer. Sentencing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Charges of assault of a prison employee and habitual offender - third offense notice were dismissed.
  • Joshua William Malmberg, 35, of Rodney, pleaded guilty to a charge of malicious destruction of personal property - less than $200. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, victim's restitution of $300. and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. The no contact bond condition was continued. A second charge of malicious destruction of personal property less than $200 was dismissed.
  • James Aaron McCray, 37, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 1. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was posted.
  • Suzanne Rosenogle, 49, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to an added charge of attempted harboring. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375 and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of accessory after the fact - felony was dismissed.
  • David Alan Stinson Jr., 37, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate/second/subsequent and improper plates. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375 and one year in jail, to serve ten days now concurrent with other charge and 93 days in jail, to serve ten days now concurrent with the other charge. Work release is authorized.
  • Robert W. Terrel, 35, of Ludington, pleaded guilty to an added charge of no proof of insurance. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $225. A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.
  • Angela Joy Tjapkes, 35, of Irons, pleaded guilty to a charge of embezzlement - agent/trustee under $200. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, victim's restitution of $60.89 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Terry Martin Tjapkes Jr., 36, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A plea of not guilty was entered. A non-jury trial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015. Bond is continued with a no contact condition.
  • Robert Lewis Traviss Jr., 34, of Reed City, was arraigned on charges of firearms - possession by a felon, wildlife conservation - taking deer/bear/turkey, two charges of wildlife conservation part-general violation, and habitual offender - third offense notice. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Steve Everette Troupe, 45, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to an added charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate/second/subsequent was dismissed.
  • Keiton Thomaspatrick Woolum, 25, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to use of a controlled substance - narcotic/cocaine. The defendant was sentenced to serve one year in jail, to serve 24 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of prison - prisoner in possession of contraband was dismissed.
