Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending January 19, 2014;

  • Ruben Arriaga, 58, of Bitely, was arraigned on a charge of arson - personal property $200 but less than $1,000. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $7,500, ten percent.
  • Frank Anthony Charnes, 48, of Irons, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence/second offense. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  • Fred Arthur Christmas, 56, of Scottville, was arraigned on charges of firearms-possession by a felon, possession of a controlled substance-less than 25 grams and domestic violence. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 23, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  • Danny Clifton Decou, 66, of Chase, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance/marijuana. Sentencing was scheduled for February 19, 2015 at 9 a.m.
  • Jeremy Allen Foreman, 20, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and driving with license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Joshua Allen Gilland, 34, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to wildlife conservation part-general violation and hunting deer without a valid license. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $250 on the first count and fines and costs of $250, victim's restitution of $2,000 and hunting license revoked for 2014, 2015 and 2016 on the second charge.
  • Matthew Dillon Graham, 20, of Baldwin, was arraigned in Circuit Court on charges of safe breaking and home invasion. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. The defendant remained free on personal recognizance bond.
  • John Michael King, 52, of Luther, was arraigned on a charge of malicious use of telecommunications service. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was continued with condition of no contact.
  • John F. Knysz, 64, of Irons, was arraigned on six charges of weapons - purchase without a license. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Paul David Loomis, 35, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of child- accosting for immoral purposes and child abuse - third degree. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent with condition of no contact with the victim or the victim's family.
  • Tina Marie Miller, 55, of Irons. was arraigned on a charge of firearms-possession by a felon. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 23, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent,
  • Tyler James Pelto, 19, of Irons, was arraigned on charges of safe breaking, home invasion - second degree and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond of $10,000, ten percent was posted.
  • James Earl Rogers Jr., 54, of Chase, was arraigned on a charge of failure to appear on an original warrant of innkeeper-defrauding. A not guilty plea was entered. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $2,500, ten percent.
  • James Earl Rogers Jr., 54 of Chase, was arraigned on a bench warrant for an original charge of innkeeper-defrauding. A pretrial and a bench warrant hearing were scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. Bond was reset at $500.
  • Virginia Marie Rogers, 54, of Chase, was arraigned on a charge of failure to appear on an original warrant of innkeeper-defrauding. A not guilty plea was entered. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $2,500, ten percent.
  • Virginia Marie Rogers, 54, of Chase, was arraigned on charges of check-no account and innkeeper-defrauding. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 30, at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent.
  • Jaime Adan Saenz, 30, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of operating with a high blood alcohol level and failure to report an accident. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent.
  • Gordon Dean Stephan, 49, of Chase, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate and operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for January 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. Bond of $5,000, ten percent was posted.
  • James Dean Woodworth, 19, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of criminal sexual conduct-person 13 to 15 and criminal sexual conduct-third, force or coercion. A preliminary examination was scheduled for December 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $50,000 cash with a condition of no contact with the victim.
