Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week of May 22, 2015:

  • Richard Allen Ashbrook, 45, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to an added charge of child abuse- fourth degree. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375 and one year in jail, to serve two days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of child abuse- third degree was dismissed.
  • David Forrest Barton, 31, of Chase was arraigned on a charge of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance/marijuana. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 1, 2015.
  • Derrick Wayne Copeland, 30, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance- marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for six months with a restricted license after 30 days.
  • Tasha Ann Copeland, 22, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance/marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for six months with a restricted license after 30 days.
  • Angela Marie DeLoche, 38, of Wellston, pleaded guilty to a charge of embezzlement-agent/trustee- under $200. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, victim's restitution of $65, 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year and not to enter E-Z Mart.
  • Nancy Lee Fullerton, 54, of Baldwin, was found not guilty by a non-jury trial on a charge of false report of a misdemeanor.
  • Christa Alise Gonzalez, 21, of Wellston. was held in contempt of court, sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served, and was bound over to Circuit Court on a charge of larceny in a building.
  • Jonathon I. Hawkins, 38, of Idlewild, was arraigned on charges of assault by strangulation and child abuse- third degree. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 9, 2015.
  • Carl Lee Herring, 24, of Baldwin, was bound over to Circuit Court on charges of distributing obscene matter to children and habitual offender- fourth offense notice. Bond is set at $10,000, cash or surety.
  • Richard H. Ingraham, 44, of Luther, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without security. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375 and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Clifford Lawrence Kaja, 30, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance- marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for six months, with a restricted license after 30 days.
  • Austin Eugene Lake, 54, of Jenison, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated and criminal contempt of court. The defendant was sentenced to $1,180 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court on the first count and 93 days in jail, to serve 30 now, concurrent to the contempt charge.
  • Brandon Lee Maike, 38, of White Cloud, pleaded guilty to a charge of violations of license restrictions. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of operating without ignition inter device was dismissed.
  • Derek Alan Mock Sr., 42, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of retail fraud-third degree. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 4, 2015. Surety bond of $2,500 was posted. Defendant not to go to Ace Hardware.
  • Kurtis John Pacola, 36, of Luther, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was posted.
  • David Scott Raymond, 53, of Luther, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and failure to report an accident. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 8, 2015. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was posted.
